Want to buy patterns in person? I do three bead shows a year - but all in Texas...e-mail me for details.

Paws to success....necklaces

First, I want to say that ANY of my patterns can be made by a motivated beginner....or by someone who's "crafty" in general, but has little beading experience. Who's a "motivated beginner?" YOU know who you are...all that being said, each pattern is rated as follows:

THREE PAWS
The most challenging patterns I offer. But, what makes a pattern challenging? That's a bit in the eye of the beader, so to speak. In other words, just because I found it challenging doesn't mean that you will. I consider the pattern to be more difficult because it has more complex construction, and more or more difficult stitches, or for any combination of reasons. It's just my guestimate....
TWO PAWS
A bit more challenging. The pattern is more difficult primarily because it combines stitches in unique, precise (and maybe unusual) ways, not because the stitches themselves are difficult (see Three Paws below). Motivated beginners will probably get good results, but will probably be a challenge for most new beaders, and maybe even for more experienced beaders who are limited on patience. Not good for those who want things in an instant.
ONE PAW
This is a good pattern for beginners. Even if you're brand new to the world of beading, you should do okay. This does not mean that more advanced beaders won't enjoy the project. One of my most popular bracelet patterns, Instant Flower Garden, is very simple, but gets WOWS! from everybody.

AFRICAN HELIX LARIAT

If you're wondering what those pieces in the middle of the picture are - well, this piece is interchangeable! This piece is quite long (about 40 inches or so), but one of my students made it much shorter and inserted a wire so she could wear it as a choker. The stitch used is African Helix, which I consider to be one of the more challenging stitches. I show you how to graduate the colors between sections, which doesn't show very well in the picture. Very pretty, don't you think?

CELEBRATE FALL

Or whatever season you want! This necklace is beautiful on. It has beaded bead stations, and uses a stringing pattern in between the beaded beads. One of my favorites to wear.

SUMMER DAYS

I was oh-so-fortunate to get to attend summer camp as a girl. Not the day kind or even the week kind, but the kind where you went away for 6 WHOLE WEEKS! One of the things I learned was a lariat braid, and that's the basis for this necklace. It looks kinda short in the picture, but it actually measures about 22 inches, not including the tassel area. Of course, you can make as short or as long as you want.....I rated this one one paw, as it is quite easy, but it does take a while to stitch.

REVERSIBLE HERRINGBONE

This necklace lays like a dream on your neck. You can make the "reversible" as dramatic or as subtle as you wish. Again, my students often make improvements on the original - Beth used leaves to fringe the necklace instead of teardrops....You'll also learn how to make a beaded toggle clasp.
